This is a picture I took whilst working in Djenne, Mali, West Africa. These are boys being taught Arabic so that they can read the Koran. They are being taught at the side of the street, outside a small mosque and they are writing on slates. Djenne is a Unesco, World Heritage site as it has the largest Sand Mosque in the world.
